It should be mentioned before you read the list which is not very reliable since neither the companies themselves have been able to verify the figure. Even so this top is as an estimate.

I'm really surprised to see some cars in this list. So, from low to high:

10. Volkswagen Passat (Germany / 1973-present) more than 15,000,000 in five generations.

9. Nissan Sunny / Sentra / Tsuru / Pulsar (Japan / 1966-present) Most of 16,000,000 in 10 generations.

8. Ford Model T (USA / 1908-1927) 16,500,000 units of a single design. It was the first car to sell 5, 10 and 15 million.

7. Honda Civic (Japan / 1972-present) More than 16'500.000 in eight generations.

6. Fiat 124 (Italy / 1966-present) Nearly 20,000,000 in worldwide, including sales under different names in countries like Russia (Lada), Spain (Seat), PAL-Premier (India), Turkey (Tofas) and other .

5. Ford Escort (USA / 1968-2003) Nearly 20,000,000 in the whole world in six generations.

4. Volkswagen Beetle (Germany / 1938-2003) 21,529,464 units. The single best-selling design in history and the first to reach 20 million.

3. Volkswagen Golf (Germany / 1974-present) Over 26,000,000 in five generations until 2006. In 2002 he became the best-selling model in the Volkswagen.
