Watching Traffic Cops now, loads of people on it getting caught without insurance (and in somecases tax, driving license etc).

I noticed on a Direct Line advert the other day that they won't make you pay the excess if your vehicle get hit by an uninsured driver, I take it most other insurers don't normally offer this?

Have you been in this situation?
